This page explains how E-migrantes uses cookies and similar technologies when you browse e-migrantes.com and associated subdomains.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the browser when you visit a website. They let us recognise your device between visits and enable essential features (such as authentication) and experience improvements (such as remembering your preferred city).
2. Types of cookies we use
2.1 Essential cookies
Required for basic operation. They cannot be disabled. They include:
- Authenticated session (Supabase Auth)
- Browsing preferences: selected city, search radius, cultural origins chosen in the filter, and approximate coordinates (the latter only if you allow location in your browser)
- Your acceptance state for this very cookie notice
2.2 Optional cookies (analytics)
Activated only if you click Accept all. We use two analytics services:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures visits, pages and interactions in aggregate, with IP anonymisation enabled.
- Microsoft Clarity — generates heatmaps and anonymous session recordings (mouse movement, clicks and scrolling). Clarity automatically masks sensitive content (form fields, passwords) and we do not use this data to identify you — it helps us understand where the interface confuses or fails.
If you choose Essential only, neither service is loaded and no data is sent to Google or Microsoft.
3. Managing consent
On your first visit to E-migrantes a banner appears with two options: Accept all or Essential only. Your choice is stored in your browser. You can change it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser or by contacting us at geral@e-migrantes.com.
4. Third-party cookies
We use the following third-party services that may set their own cookies:
- Supabase — authentication and storage
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — analytics, only with your consent (see section 2.2)
- Google Places API — server-side only; sets no cookies in your browser
- Vercel — hosting; may set technical cookies
- Google AdSense — when we show advertising, Google may use cookies to personalise and measure ads. You can manage your Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.
